The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has dismissed claims. He stated that the government has not imposed a freeze on public sector employment. He assured that recruitment into key sectors will continue.
Dr Forson spoke in an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, March 12. He refuted speculation that the government had halted new hires. He described such reports as unfounded.
“There is no freeze on employment,” he stated emphatically. He reassured Ghanaians that job opportunities in the public sector remain open. They are based on economic needs.
His comments come at a time of rising concerns. There are limited job openings in the public sector. Many fear potential restrictions on hiring.
Dr Forson further emphasised that the government remains committed to job creation, particularly for the youth. The government will continue to improve employment conditions across various sectors.
The clarification signals the government’s commitment to sustaining essential public services. It ensures that critical sectors such as health and education receive the necessary personnel.
His reassurance aligns with the government’s broader economic strategy of strengthening Ghana’s workforce and promoting sustainable growth.
