Accra, Ghana – On April 28, 2025, the National Service Authority (NSA) announced the deployment of 17,439 nurses and midwives to health facilities across Ghana for the 2025/2026 service year.
This deployment, released on Monday, aims to strengthen the nation’s healthcare system by placing skilled professionals in both urban and rural facilities. It reflects the NSA’s ongoing commitment to national development through mandatory service.
All deployed personnel are required to complete the following steps to finalize their postings:
- Visit www.nsa.gov.gh to check their placement.
- Print their appointment letter and proceed to their designated health facility for endorsement.
- Book an online appointment for registration at their assigned facility.
- Report to their NSA Regional Validation and Registration Centre with a valid Ghana Card to complete the process.
The validation and registration period commenced on April 28, 2025, and will run until May 9, 2025, at all NSA Regional Centres nationwide. National service and rotation duties will officially begin on Friday, May 2, 2025.

NSA Director-General Felix Gyamfi congratulated the nurses and midwives, urging them to approach their service with professionalism and compassion. “Your role is vital to improving healthcare access for all Ghanaians, especially in underserved areas,” Gyamfi stated. He also reminded the public that, under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), all Ghanaian citizens aged 18 and above who have completed accredited tertiary institutions, including universities and nursing training colleges, are required to undertake national service.
This deployment is expected to alleviate staffing shortages in health facilities while providing young professionals with hands-on experience in diverse medical settings.
