Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central and wife of Ghanaian musician Keche Andrew, has made headlines with her recent investment of GHS 100,000 to support a Level 400 business student from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). The funds are aimed at helping the student launch a catfish farming business, a venture that caught Cudjoe’s attention during GIMPA’s Business School week conference.

Cudjoe, known for her active engagement in youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, announced the initiative on Instagram, sharing photos from the event and expressing her commitment to fostering economic growth and sustainable development.
In her post, she emphasized that the investment goes beyond financial aid, serving as a testament to her belief in the potential of Ghana’s youth to drive innovation and create jobs. “This is more than just financial support—it’s a symbol of my unwavering belief in the potential of our youth,” she wrote. “By investing in young entrepreneurs, we’re laying the foundation for sustainable development, job creation, and economic growth in our constituency.”
Her involvement in student affairs is not new. As a dedicated mentor, Cudjoe frequently attends conferences and events to share her insights on entrepreneurship and leadership, inspiring young Ghanaians to pursue their ambitions. This latest gesture aligns with her broader mission to empower the next generation, particularly in her Amenfi Central constituency, where she seeks to promote initiatives that uplift communities and create opportunities.
The catfish farming project, backed by Cudjoe’s substantial investment, is expected to contribute to local economic development by fostering entrepreneurship and potentially creating jobs. Catfish farming is a growing industry in Ghana, with increasing demand for fish as a protein source, making it a viable business opportunity for the GIMPA student.
Cudjoe’s efforts have been widely praised on social media, with many commending her for her hands-on approach to leadership and her dedication to youth development. Her role as a philanthropist and public servant continues to position her as a key figure in driving positive change in Ghana, particularly for aspiring entrepreneurs. As she noted in her Instagram caption, “I remain committed to empowering the next generation to rise, lead, and transform their communities. Together, we rise.”
